Participate

Your radio station can apply to join the network by submitting the application form below. CMRN will get in touch with you via e-mail to continue the application process. Currently, participating stations are asked to feed a 64kbps 44.1khz mono MP3 webstream to the CMRN network switch. If your station doesn't have this or you don't know what this means, don't worry; CMRN will try to provide whatever tech support and resources you may need. After filling this form out, please join our Welcome e-mail list.

Principles of Unity

  1. The Critical Mass Radio Network is based upon principles of equality, decentralization and local autonomy. The network is composed of community-based radio stations that recognize the importance in developing a network of radio communities.
  2. The network considers open access to information a prerequisite to the building of a more free and just society.
  3. The network recognizes the importance of process to social change and is committed to the development of non-hierarchical relationships, from interpersonal relationships to group dynamics. Therefore, participants shall work to develop participatory democratic processes that are transparent to its membership.
  4. The network recognizes that a prerequisite for participation in the decision making process of each local group is the contribution of an individual's labor to the group.
  5. The network is committed to caring for one another and our respective communities, both collectively and as individuals, and will promote the sharing of resources including knowledge, skills and equipment.
  6. The network is committed to building a culture of respect between individuals, both locally and network wide, and recognizes the challenges we face in building participatory structures. Therefore, we shall work to build positive and constructive work relationships and to defend our organizations against disruptive behavior.
  7. The network is committed to the principle of human equality, and shall not discriminate, including discrimination based upon race, gender, age, class or sexual orientation. Recognizing the vast cultural traditions within the network, we are committed to reflecting the diversity within our localities.
